JACLYN MCVEY
Owner + Trainer
Jaclyn McVey is a life-long equestrian who grew up riding in Durham, NC. She is a hunter-jumper trainer who is passionate about providing horses and riders with a positive learning environment. She competed at local NCHJA shows competing in derbies and attending multiple medal finals. She also showed IEA in high school with Oak Hill Hunter Jumpers and IHSA throughout college at NC State.

Jaclyn believes that a strong foundation in and out of the saddle creates for the most successful team. The focus of her training is on safety, horsemanship, and self-fulfillment. She enjoys helping all levels and ages of riders reach their goals by creating a fun but disciplined program.
She believes that you can always learn more about horses and looks for opportunities to do that. Jaclyn is Equine Sports Massage Therapy (ESMT) certified and insured. She offers this service to clients in the Durham/Hillsborough area. Jaclyn is also insured to train off-site. She also has worked as an equine vet tech in the past.

The meaning behind the name Fonteyn Farms
Jaclyn's first horse was a registered Oldenburg named Fonteyn. She was more affectionately known as Tess around the barn and Pardon My Sass in the show ring. Tess taught Jaclyn a lot as a rider and helped take her up the levels on the local 'C' circuit. In her later years, she helped teach some lessons as Jaclyn got her program started.
